Crawford concludes that “ambitious young employees can’t afford to stay in any one position longer than two years, because they will need to do about 10 different jobs to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to be senior management material.” That’s why, if you’re serious about getting ahead, you can’t afford to take a laid back approach and hope that everything will work out for the best. You have to have a pro-active plan that can guarantee you the kind of career growth that will give you the assurance you can meet your goals. Why?
